Cup cakes

Today James had a play date all day so Sienna and I went to the local coffee shop for lunch and also bought a packet mix to make some cupcakes. It had to be something that could be done by hand as all my cooking things including mix master are still in boxes. I did manage to find the muffin tin without too much looking (thanks to my organization of boxes). Here are a few pictures of my little girl in pink making cupcakes with pink icing (what other colour is there after all in a little girls' life. PS....pretty happy with the diffused lighting that comes into my kitchen for photo opportunities. I've lost my "glamour blue bench top but pretty happy with the lighting".

Farewell Nanny & Pop

We had our last lunch out the back today with Nanny and Pop before we dropped them off at the airport to go back to Melbourne today. After we had lunch the kids had time to play "chicken red-rover" out the back which was very amusing to watch and Nanny and Pop had a little bit of time to finish up their cross word puzzle. It has been fantastic to spend time with them and we will miss them when they are gone.

Bribie Island

The other day after visiting the strawberry farm we stopped in at Bribie Island for fish and chips for lunch, a play in the playground and a walk along the beach. Many of my childhood memories were spent on the calm side of Bribie Island and Mum has many slides of us kids in the water in our cute little ruffle togs.

Strawberry Picking

For the past 2 years my friends have taken their kids to Rolin Strawberry Farm about 45 mins away on the way to the North Coast. This year I was determined to make it and the "pick your own" only opened to the public last Saturday so we got in early. I was looking forward to some beautiful photo opportunities and took along my expodisc (for perfect white balance) and we arrived and there weren't too many people in the fields so photos would be just us and I started to take my first photo and the camera was flashing inside "no CF Card"........oops....it was still in the computer from loading my photos last night. I couldn't believe it but luckily Poppa Waz had his Nikon with him so we took a few photos on his camera and then I uploaded them to my computer when we got home.

I have only done that once before but it didn't matter as I wasn't really in the picture mood taking on that day but today I was wanting to take some Karen Russell (KR to my friends) shots..... The Nikon does everything back to front from Canon so when you are zooming in on one camera, on the other it's zooming out so it was all very hilarious. Here are some photos of our strawberry picking adventure and they were absolutely delicious and huge fresh strawberries.

We dropped into Bribie Island after the Strawberry Farm and had fish and chips for lunch, the kids had a play on the playground, threw the Frisbee and had a little walk on the beach. Photos of the beach will be posted tomorrow as there are lots from the strawberry farm to post today.

What we did today

We put bench seats together, the kids swept the shelving, we put shelving together, Sienna got bitten by an ant and had to lay down on the new bench seat with some ice on her foot, James made Zoob animals "man walking his dog", a frog and a Zoob dactal (can't spell that one). Very productive and exhausting day.
