Last Saturday was a beautiful day and we headed off to Redcliffe for a sausage sizzle for lunch. The kids got straight into collecting heaps of shells all of which I think are currently in my back yard (look out when the lawn needs a mow). There is nothing better than spending time at the beach to make you feel like you are on holidays. Not rubbing it in or anything (sorry Amy) it was another beautiful winter's day in Queensland.

Farewell Nanny & Pop
We had our last lunch out the back today with Nanny and Pop before we dropped them off at the airport to go back to Melbourne today. After we had lunch the kids had time to play "chicken red-rover" out the back which was very amusing to watch and Nanny and Pop had a little bit of time to finish up their cross word puzzle. It has been fantastic to spend time with them and we will miss them when they are gone.
Bribie Island

The other day after visiting the strawberry farm we stopped in at Bribie Island for fish and chips for lunch, a play in the playground and a walk along the beach. Many of my childhood memories were spent on the calm side of Bribie Island and Mum has many slides of us kids in the water in our cute little ruffle togs.

Playground fun
Yesterday when we were at Samford we stopped at the fabulous playground which has been designed with the bush in mind and you still feel as if you are in the country. Rustic fences and tall trees make it a beautiful place. They have this amazing swing set which has about 5 or so swings all swinging into the middle. Surprizely, even though they all look as if they are going to crash into each other they don't reach. Normally you have 2 swings and all the kids want the swing at the same time. There are lots of swings in this arrangement and because they all faced into the middle all the kids were having a big conversation which wouldn't normally take place when 2 swings are side by side.
Sienna was "rock climbing" on another section of the playground and slid back to the ground as she lost her footing and hurt her ankle and ended up in tears. It's a bit sore still today so she must have landed pretty hard on it. Apart from the minor accident we had a great afternoon.

Grandparents are wonderful
We took a drive to Samford which is 10 kms from here, very rural and I managed to get the kids to sit down for a couple of pictures with Nanny & Pop. I never seem to get that "one" of all 4 of them together but we had fun today and I was pretty happy with what we got. This was after the long play on the playground of course and not before.
