Here's a post about some friendly wildlife that visited us on Easter Sunday and sang us a tune for about 10 minutes. It was so beautiful to listen to and I suspect he was calling out for his mummy somewhere in the trees. The kids enjoyed some Easter painting activities while the birdie was singing to us. Easter Sunday was such beautiful weather here in Brisbane. I believe it is a Butcher Bird but anyone wants to tell me other wise, chirp in!!!

Sienna's gift from Nanny and Pop
When it comes to birthdays little 5 year olds find it hard when they don't receive anything special on their brothers birthday. Luckily for Sienna, Nanny and Pop put a little something pink in the parcel for her to have. It is now displayed on her bedroom door knob along with our Christmas star. Take a little peak.

Ikea Train Set
I'm sure everyone will little ones has at some stage in their life owned an "Ikea Train Set". We have amazingly never lost any of the tracks or the trains which is saying something however, during the past year or so I have attempted at least 2 or 3 times to give this away to the Salvo's since James and Sienna have outgrown it. Every time I put it in a bag in the garage to take it to the Salvo's the kids find it and say "I want to play with it" and again it comes back inside our house again and again.
Yesterday afternoon I went into Sienna's room to find her playing with the train set which I swear had gone in one of my Salvo's bag but there it was appearing again. She was playing with the train set while James had a go on her piano. Since he decided he didn't want to be photographed he took the keyboard off the stand and crawled underneath the bed to avoid the paparazzi mother. (as if that would stop me!!!!) I found it comforting to see them in the same room playing because shortly before that things were not quite so calm and they were in time out in their own bedrooms. It was a lovely change to the previous 15 mins or so.

Friday afternoon

I don't know about you guys but my kids are getting exhausted nearing the end of Term 3. Having them get sick for that period of time just added to the exhaustion. Sienna was having a jump on the trampoline yesterday afternoon and I needed a "photo of the day" so she lay down on the trampoline at the entry point. Over the holidays I will have to plan a photo shoot with James as he hasn't been in that many photos lately due to his own choice.

What kids see....
Last week for some reason we seemed to get stuck at one traffic light close to our house near the local shopping centre. We were sitting in the car and Sienna said "look at the doggie mummy" to which I looked over and thought where on earth is the dog. She then pointed out that the tree looked like a doggie running and indeed it did. On this particular day it was a little windy so the leaves moved like the doggie's legs were running.
A few days later I had my camera in the car with me but I could only take a photo further over to the left from the best angle to see the outline of the doggie as you can imagine, traffic lights never stop for you when you want them to stop so I snapped this in the turning lane when no one was behind me. You are looking at the dog with it's head on the right with an open mouth. He has 4 legs and a tail on the left and pricked up ears.....do you see it like we do?

Around here at the moment
Around here at the moment we are heading into 2 weeks of 2 kids being sick. The fever comes and goes followed by the dreadful cough. They are up for a day and back down for a day. The chemist has been our best friend during this time. Sienna is down again on the couch not looking very well today with her fever back again. It's no fun for them and equally no fun for Mummy either. Hoping for a full recovery asap, fingers crossed.

Ali's recent post

Ali Edwards did a post yesterday called "when you were two" which described her daughter drawing all over her body and it reminded me of some photos I had taken of Sienna about the same age. When I took these photos they made me laugh because as nearly 2 year olds they are so proud of their artwork even though she had a colouring book in front of her she didn't open it. These pictures were taken in November 2007 when Sienna was 21 months old when we were away camping and it appears Sienna favours the same colour purple as Ali's daughter. (Tomorrow's post will be on James who has been home sick all week with the fever and cough thingy that is going through Brisbane like wild fire.) Double click on the photos to see all the lovely colouring in over her legs (still trying to sort out getting my photos bigger - thanks Sharon for the advice, still trying to figure it out, will keep you posted).
