Yesterday we caught a free ferry called a "City Hopper" on the Brisbane River from New Farm up to Southbank and walked to the Museum to see "The Collectables" which is showing. It isn't a huge exhibition however there are some weird and wacky things there including a jar of someones finger nails and toe nails. There was a huge collection of "snow globes" which was owned by the Museum which started out as staff bringing them back from their holiday adventures and then other organizations would send them to the Museum and the weirder and wackier the better and the collection just grew and grew. Everyone loves a snow globe but not many of us would own a lot of them.
On the way back down the river I noticed a huge amount of smoke at the end of the city and it didn't look very good. Shortly after the news chopper was hovering above and then what seemed like for ever, the fire engines and ambulance finally started coming from all directions with sirens blaring. Thankfully there were no fatalities considering the inferno that happened to this building. In the last two photos you can see the smoke bellowing from the apartment building at Cathedral Square Here's a few photos of our little day trip out in Brisbane.

Around Here
We have another two weeks of school left and we are all exhausted. Term 1 seemed to fly by however Term 2 is dragging on and we still have got to get through another two weeks of getting out of the house early, homework, making lunches at breakfast time, football training, football, school fete to name a few. We don't have a particularly busy schedule however there is always something to be done, somewhere to go, someone to buy a present for, someone to be dropped off or picked up and then the activities of running a household, washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning, bill paying, grocery shopping etc. Here's a look at what's been going on around here lately.

Last of Autumn Photo Shoot
Every day on the way home from being out I pass a beautiful tree with red autumn leaves. I must admit over the years where I live I don't see that many trees like this so I wanted to be able to take some photos of the kids throwing the leaves up into the air. The tree is on a main road so I never got around to doing it however today I only have one child with me as James is at a party so I could manage one child, one camera and keep it safe. Here's a couple of photos of Sienna with the beautiful autumn leaves today.
