First Post

Welcome to my first post for this blog. I have managed so far not to have a blog myself however I am totally inspired by reading other people's blogs who have similar interests in photography, scrapbooking, decorating and living the ordinary everyday life. It's time I caught up with the rest of the world and will be sharing my photographic adventures which are mostly of my 2 beautiful children. I am extremely fortunate that they are willing participants in my photographic obsession, for most of the time anyway.

Through reading other blogs I have picked up heaps of tips on photoshop because people share their experiences and thankfully I have advanced from where I was a year ago. It's really nice that people with common interests are willing to share with others their projects and give advice when asked. Even setting up this blog the lovely Sharon from "The Quiet Life" in North West Queensland offered me her advice and assistance if I had trouble. Thanks Sharon you are a lifesaver.

On the scrapbooking front I participated in Ali Edwards "Week in the Life" project in April which was fantastic. I was lucky enough to have 2 of my pages featured on her blog under the heading "week in the life -Part 1". When you see the picture of the anzac biscuits that's my page) I am still in the process of completing my journalling for this project but it's coming along nicely. I did my first "Week in the Life" in October 2008 way before I even knew what digital templates were so I have come along way but I still get a kick out of looking back on that book and seeing how little the kids are and what we were doing back then. If you haven't ever done anything like this check out Ali's blog.

I look forward to sharing photos of our everyday life. Welcome to my blog and thanks for stopping by. Kathy

  1. Hi Kathy :-)

I'm pretty new to the world of blogging too - I have to say it is pretty addictive!
I started in a on-line class set up with Shimelle Laine, it was called Blogging for Scrapbookers ... the class was live when I did it but you can go to her site and still take the class, it was invaluable to me as I'm clueless as far as computers go and she had a lot of help with the whole set up process and lots of additional information.
You are so lucky to have willing models - my two are becoming fairly ratty everytime I pull out the camera - and that is a lot this week as I'm doing WITL this week!
Have fun with your blog - I'll be back to check things out :-)
